Old Lutherans

There were several different lutheran congregations in the area, and only few parish registers survive. Some of the registers are kept in duplicate and triplicate (i.e. duplicate entries), and in Ancestry are at times wrongly localized or listed as catholic. 

This is the beginning of an OFB of Old Lutheran parishes in the Kreise (counties) of Meseritz  (Międzyrzecz) and Birnbaum (Międzychód) but also the Neustadt/Pinne area.  The parishes drew their memberships from a large area, i.e. several surrounding villages, not necessarily adjacent to the parish location. It is also known that a good number of lutheran families emigrated to South Australia. If known, this information is included here as well. Furthermore, Lutherans mentioned in civil registrations books of this area are also included.
