Local heritage book of Sophienhof

Sophienhof is a district of the town Loitz in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald and is 11 km from Demmin and 12 km from Jarmen.

The Protestant church Sophienhof includes the following places: Kletzin, Ückeritz, Plestlin, Sophienhof and Wüstenfelde.

For the local family book the church book duplicates of the evangelical church Sophienhof for the period 1794 to 1874 and the church book duplicates of the daughter church Alt Plestlin for the period 1834 to 1842 were evaluated. As a supplement to individual families, various contributions were made by Dr. Max Bruhn.

General information:

The database contains all persons from the church book duplicates (with the exception of the godfathers). People from the church books were linked as far as possible to families. There were also many day-career families in Sophienhof and the surrounding area, so it may well be the families in other local family books again.

The spelling of family names and also of the first names varies greatly over time. For example, the surname Thimeyan may have been written as Thymejan, Thimijan, Thimyan, Thimjan, Thymjan. The family and first names were unified for the local family book.

Despite all diligence, the local family book is not free of errors. It may be that a wrong transcript and linkage has been made by reading errors, several persons with the same first and last name or incorrect entries. Please inform me if you have found further data on the families, or even errors.
