Local heritage book of WahnThe book deals with information for the catholic village of Wahn in the Emsland (located roughly between Lathen and Sögel). The village no longer exists today - a likely unique occurence in West Germany. This is because the army in Meppen expanded the Kruppschen Shooting Range and the village was unfortunately in the way. For more information see: http://www.wahn-use-olde-heimat.de According to the 1992 "Handbook for Diocese of Osnabrück", the current Wahn 43 is the rightful heir of the old chapel parish dissolved in 1942, and in 1946 (part of) the religious care community, in 1960 the "Kuratie" of Lathen and filial church community of Lathen-[New] Wahn. The sacramental records are also located there and contain the baptisms (1851-1942), marriages (1868-1942), and deaths (1868-1942). The parish today is a member of the community district of Lathen.
